Jim Shaddix - Called 2022: Session 2
Jim Shaddix, former Senior Professor of Preaching at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, leads his first session at the Called conference (2022). Called conference is an event helping lead college age and high school seniors, men and women, to discern their calling to ministry.
For his second session, Dr. Shaddix challenged consider their roles as shepherd if they choose to accept such a calling. He dives into 1 Peter 5.

- Are you ready for the coming persecution?
- Who is going to shepherd God's people through the persecution?
Hebrews 13:17 - You'll provide an account of those under your care.
As a shepherd of people's souls, keep these things in mind:
- It's God Flock
- How do we shepherd?
Superintend them - "look out over"; "get your hands dirty"; not passive
Not for gain
Without lording/domineering over them
Willingly - Serve like Christ/Symbolize Christ
Finally, make sure you recognize that this season is temporary.
